چکیده

Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWFS) has been widely used in adaptive optics (AO) systems to detect phase distortion characteristics. In laser communication, target detection, vision and other application fields, the performance of SHWFS is affected by bright skylight scattered light, which restricted working ability AO system severely. Therefore, this paper proposes a new polarized (p-SHWFS) based on principle polarization imaging, utilize difference state (SoP) between signal stray light improve image contrast. The p-SHWFS can be composed simply micro-lens array linear camera. camera uses four directional polarizing filters at 0°, 135°, 45° 90° every pixels. Thus, degree (DoLP) angle (AoLP) for incident analyzed, signal-to-background ratio (SBR) improved some certain depending SoP. paper, we introduce basic validate feasibility accuracy improvement numerical simulation practical experiments. experimental results show that obviously measurement under strong when SoP exists. That may give us initial reference reduce influence fields.

Measurement Error of Shack-Hartmann Wavefront Sensor

A Shack-Hartmann sensor is one of the most important and popular wavefront sensors used in an adaptive optics system to measure the aberrations caused by either atmospheric turbulence, laser transmission, or the living eye [1-7]. Its design was based on an aperture array that was developed in 1900 by Johannes Franz Hartmann as a means to trace individual rays of light through the optical system...

Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor precision and accuracy

The design of a wavefront sensor may be determined by the lenslet array and camera selection. There are numerous different applications for these sensors, requiring widely differing dynamic range and accuracy. Performance metrics are needed to evaluate candidate designs and to compare results. We have developed a standard methodology for measuring the repeatability, accuracy and dynamic range o...

Detection of phase singularities with a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor.

While adaptive optical systems are able to remove moderate wavefront distortions in scintillated optical beams, phase singularities that appear in strongly scintillated beams can severely degrade the performance of such an adaptive optical system. Therefore the detection of these phase singularities is an important aspect of strong-scintillation adaptive optics. We investigate the detection of ...

Coherence-gated Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor insensitive to stray reflections

Due to the limited numerical aperture in the beams associated with each microlens in the lenslet array (LA), a Shack – Hartmann wavefront sensor (SH/WFS) has little sensitivity to the position in depth in the object where the signal comes from. This makes the SH/WFS insensitive to depth variations of aberrations. Consequently, stray reflections from the interface optics cannot be rejected and t...

Depth-resolved wavefront aberrations using a coherence-gated Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor.

In the present paper we investigate the possibility of narrowing the depth range of a physical Shack - Hartmann (SH) wavefront sensor (WFS) by using coherence gating. For the coherence gating, two low coherence interferometry (LCI) methods are evaluated and proof of principle configurations demonstrated: (i) a time domain LCI method based on phase shifting interferometry and (ii) a spectral dom...
